With Fr. Zach Kautzky
February 18, 2014 at the Basilica of St. John, Des Moines
Over 70 men attended this event.
Thank you to Father Nichols for Mass, and to the Knights of the Basilica of St. John for a great meal.
Fr. Zach asked us to examine our relationship with our father, and then describe him. He then asked us to describe ourselves. Most noticed that we are like our fathers in many ways; both good and no so good. He asked us to be cognizant of the image we portray as fathers.
Fr. Zach shared three traits of fathers. A father initiates. A father provides. And, a father protects. He described each trait and provided examples.

Man-Up is a Catholic fellowship group that seeks to inspire all men of Central Iowa to be faith-driven leaders in their family, parish, and community.
We sponsor meaningful and heartfelt talks from down-to-earth speakers who are authentic in their faith. In this way we minister to the entire spectrum of men by motivating those who are young in their faith, and encouraging those who are mature.
Man-Up meets monthly at parishes around Des Moines for a meal, presentation, discussion, and fellowship.
